This quilt is an original design using two 10” layer cakes. I cut all the fabric 6 ½” by 3 ½” leaving the cut fabrics in the same order, face up. I then flipped the 3 ½” side face down and sewed all the pieced together. Once sew together, I then rotated the new pieces 45 degrees and cut each block directly in half keeping both halves right sides up. Again, I flipped one half over and sewed the pieced together. The pattern is called Double Slice of Cake!
This is an easy “complete in a day” quilt. The fabric is Farmhouse Flannels by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics. The title for the project comes from the Michele Holland’s song recorded by Teena Marie with the same title.
